By making a booking, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms, which are intended to be fair, clear, and consistent with applicable consumer and business law. Throughout this document, references to the Company, we, us, and our mean Mile End Carpet Cleaners, and references to the customer, you, and your mean the person or business requesting the service.

The term service refers to any carpet, rug, upholstery, stain treatment, deodorising, or related cleaning task agreed between the parties. These terms apply to all quotations, orders, and bookings unless we agree otherwise in writing. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.

We reserve the right to update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. For clarity, no statement made in marketing materials, conversations, or informal messages will override these written terms unless confirmed by us in writing. This page is designed as a legal document and not as a guide or promotional statement.

Professional carpet cleaning appointment confirmation processAll bookings for Mile End Carpet Cleaners services must be made through an agreed booking channel and are only confirmed once we issue acceptance. A request for a quote does not itself create a contract. Any quotation provided is based on the information available at the time and may depend on the size, condition, fibre type, access, and location of the items to be cleaned. If the facts differ from those described by the customer, we may revise the price, scope, or method before starting work.

The customer must provide accurate and complete details at the time of booking, including the type of carpet or fabric, approximate condition, any known stains, prior treatments, and any special requirements. If there is a mismatch between the information supplied and the actual condition on arrival, we may decline part or all of the work, amend the service plan, or charge an additional amount where justified. We are not responsible for delays or extra costs caused by incomplete or incorrect information.

Bookings are subject to availability. Appointment times are planned within reasonable windows and may be affected by traffic, weather, previous job overruns, or access difficulties. We will use reasonable efforts to arrive within the scheduled period, but any time estimate is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed as a fixed arrival commitment in writing. If access is not available when we arrive, the booking may be treated as a cancellation by the customer.

Payment and invoicing for carpet cleaning servicesUnless otherwise agreed, payment for carpet cleaning services is due on completion of the work. We may require a deposit or prepayment for larger, repeat, late-evening, or specially arranged bookings. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking. If a deposit is requested, the booking is not secured until the deposit has been received in cleared funds.

All prices are stated in pounds sterling and, where applicable, may include VAT or other taxes. If the price quotation is based on an estimated area or a preliminary description, the final amount may change if the actual work is greater than expected. Any additional charges for parking, congestion, heavy soiling, stain treatment, furniture moving, drying equipment, or restricted access will be discussed where reasonably possible before such charges are incurred. A receipt or invoice may be issued after the service is completed.

If payment is not made when due, we may charge statutory interest and reasonable recovery costs to the extent permitted by law. We also reserve the right to suspend future services, withhold non-essential documentation, or refer the debt for collection where necessary. Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have under mandatory consumer legislation, including rights relating to services not carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Customers may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice. If you cancel with sufficient notice before the appointment date, no cancellation fee may apply, unless the booking involved special ordering, reserved equipment, or other non-recoverable costs. If cancellation occurs at short notice or after we have arrived on site, we may charge a reasonable cancellation fee to cover time, travel, and any lost appointment slot.

Where the service has already started, you may still ask us to stop, but you will remain responsible for the proportion of work already completed, along with any materials used and any unavoidable expenses incurred. If we are unable to proceed because the property is unsafe, access is prevented, utilities are unavailable, or the environment materially differs from what was described, we may treat the booking as cancelled by the customer and charge accordingly.

We may cancel or postpone a booking for reasons beyond our control, including severe weather, equipment failure, staff illness, unsafe conditions, or suspicion of fraudulent or abusive conduct. If we cancel for such reasons, we will offer a new appointment or refund any prepaid amount for the affected portion of the service, as appropriate. We will not be liable for indirect loss caused by a cancellation or postponement, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Liability and property care during carpet cleaning workOur liability is limited to the extent permitted by UK law. We will perform the cleaning service with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with any description agreed at the time of booking. However, some stains, odours, wear patterns, dye transfer, watermarking, shrinkage, colour loss, or pre-existing damage may remain or become visible after cleaning. Results can vary depending on material condition, previous treatment, age, and construction of the item.

We are not liable for damage caused by defects, weak fibres, manufacturing faults, hidden contamination, pre-existing deterioration, or items that are not suitable for wet cleaning or other selected methods. It is the customer’s responsibility to tell us about known risks such as loose seams, fragile backing, colour instability, moth damage, or prior bleaching. Where we are informed of such risks, we may proceed only on the basis that the customer accepts the possibility of adverse effects, unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under law. Subject to that, our total liability arising from a booking will not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where the law requires a different limit.

Customers must ensure that the premises are reasonably prepared for the cleaning work. This includes providing suitable access, parking arrangements where required, removal of breakable items from the work area, and disclosure of any hazards. Where furniture must be moved, we will do so only if it is reasonably safe and practical. We may decline to move heavy, unstable, antique, or electrically connected items, and we are not responsible for pre-existing damage to furniture or fittings.

During the service, the customer should keep children, pets, and other occupants away from treated areas until it is safe to re-enter. Drying times are approximate only and depend on ventilation, fabric type, temperature, and the cleaning method used. The customer should follow any aftercare instructions provided at the end of the appointment, as failure to do so may affect results and may reduce any claim that could otherwise be made.

Responsible waste handling and disposal during cleaningAny carpet cleaners waste, wastewater, packaging, removed debris, or contaminated disposable materials generated during the service will be handled in accordance with applicable environmental and waste regulations. We will take reasonable steps to separate, contain, and dispose of waste responsibly. The customer must not ask us to dispose of prohibited items, hazardous substances, sharps, chemicals, or controlled waste unless we have expressly agreed and are legally able to do so.

Where waste is transferred off-site, it may be handled by licensed carriers or facilities as required by law. If specialist disposal is necessary because of biohazards, infestations, bodily fluids, or similarly hazardous contamination, additional charges may apply and the customer must disclose this before the appointment. If undisclosed hazardous waste is discovered during the service, we may stop the job immediately and charge for time already spent, travel, and any lawful disposal steps already taken.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory legal rules require otherwise. If the customer is domiciled in Scotland or Northern Ireland, any rights that cannot lawfully be restricted by this clause will remain unaffected. The parties agree that any dispute should first be raised in good faith so that a practical resolution may be attempted before formal proceedings are started.

Any notices, requests, or complaints relating to a booking should be made in a reasonable manner and within a reasonable time after the relevant issue arises. Delay in raising a problem may affect the investigation and any available remedy. If a court or competent authority finds that one part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, that part will be severed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of the terms will remain in force. These terms form the complete agreement between the customer and Mile End Carpet Cleaners in relation to the relevant service booking.
